About Us

PSAF International is a distinguished multidisciplinary center devoted to the development of ideas, policy proposals, and research aimed at innovation in healthcare. It is strategically positioned at the crossroads of applied neuroscience, forensic medicine, clinical risk management, and legal protection.

Its institutional legitimacy and operational scope are formally recognized through registration with the European Parliament and accreditation by the Italian Ministry of Health.

Scientific and Methodological Mandate and Contribution to the SDGs

PSAF’s work is centered on the production of advanced scientific knowledge and its transformation into practical tools for risk management and the promotion of patient safety. Its mission is inherently aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with particular reference to SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).

The organization’s approach is grounded in the methodological rigor of Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM). Drawing on the expertise of professionals from multiple disciplines, PSAF develops integrated guidelines and clinical best practices. Its research activities span healthcare risk management and disaster medicine, with a specific focus on the legal and organizational implications of emergency and crisis settings.

Specialized Focus: Neuroscience and Perinatal Health

PSAF’s scientific mission is guided by foundational research into global health risk factors, particularly those with long-term consequences.

Starting Point: This work originates from the publication of studies in neuroscience that explore new research perspectives on violence as a risk factor during pregnancy. These studies demonstrate the significant impact of violence on the neuropsychological and postural development of the unborn child, linking neurobiological alterations, such as dysfunction of the locus coeruleus, to the potential later emergence of neurodegenerative diseases, psychiatric disorders, and criminological behaviors.

Programmatic Objective: In response to this evidence, PSAF is committed to establishing an International Observatory for Pre- and Postnatal Health. This initiative pursues two complementary goals:

The standardization of prevention strategies and clinical-legal intervention protocols at a transnational level.

The promotion of an integrated, science-based approach incorporating advanced methodologies, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, to address the neurophysiological and psychological roots of trauma.

Core Objectives of PSAF

PSAF’s programmatic and social objectives seek to strengthen and stabilize the healthcare ecosystem through accountability, transparency, and shared responsibility.

A central priority is reinforcing the relationship of trust between physicians and patients. PSAF fosters transparent dialogue with the public and with consumer associations, ensuring actions guided by impartiality and institutional independence.

In the area of healthcare risk prevention, with a focus on equity and guarantees, PSAF structures its activities around two interdependent pillars:

  • Ensuring patients’ access to fair compensation in cases of personal injury resulting from substantiated medical malpractice.

  • Strengthening legal safeguards and professional protections for healthcare practitioners.

Evidence of International Relevance

PSAF’s commitment to the advancement of healthcare and legal policy at the international level is exemplified by its organization of an International Conference at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. Focused on legal and medico-legal frameworks for the integrated protection of mothers, unborn children, and minors, the conference serves as compelling evidence of PSAF’s ability to transform scientific research into meaningful and effective institutional advocacy within the European Union.
